The Creative Process

My original concepts generally begin with an idea or vision I have from something I see in my day-to-day travels. Everything inspires me. I gather ideas everywhere from nature and people, to the images I see in the media. I never travel without my digital video cam, capturing scenes as they happen as happened with The “Feline” Series. Often, as in the case of The “Tulips, Too” Series, I set up elaborate still lifes and use the digital video cam for capturing images.

Once captured in videography. I work with the stills to enhance and manipulate color, shapes, shadows, and contrast to create a print that, once finished, loosely resembles the original still capture.
